Used to drape everything on my roommate's dress form, now I pin patterns straight on myself
Back in 2019 I was convinced I needed a $180 dress form to design anything, so I made my roommate stand still for 45 minutes while I draped muslin on her. Now I just pin paper patterns to an old t-shirt I'm wearing and sketch the changes in a notebook. Turns out the body that's actually wearing the thing is the one that matters. Anyone else ditch the form and go straight to pinning on yourself, or am I just being lazy?
