Appreciation post: the Tuesday our realtor pushed back our closing by 9 days and it saved us $2,300
We were set to close on a place near Grand Rapids in early March, and my wife had already scheduled the moving truck. Then our realtor called and said the seller's paperwork had a gap, so closing was pushed 9 days. I was furious until our lender reran the numbers and our rate lock had actually gotten better in that window, dropping our payment by about $190 a month. That one delay paid for itself before we even moved a box. Did anyone else get lucky with a delay like that, or was your closing mess just a mess?
