Got pre-approved for a mortgage on Monday then watched a squirrel chew through my down payment fund's savings account paperwork on Tuesday

I spent the whole week bouncing between the lender's office and my backyard trying to figure out if I can still qualify for that first time buyer program in Austin after a rodent basically ate my bank statements, has anyone else had a critter mess with their home buying plans?

Damn man that's rough. Squirrels are absolute menaces I swear. I had one get into my truck's engine bay last fall and chew through a coolant hose. Took me three days to figure out why it was overheating. Hope your lender cuts you some slack on the paperwork.

That coolant hose thing sounds like a nightmare. Did insurance cover any of that?
