That stings a little when you finally hit a big number and it doesn't feel like much. But think of it this way, $10k is the hardest part because you're just starting out from zero. Once you've got that cushion, every extra dollar you save starts to feel heavier since you're stacking onto something real. Focus on finding a starter house where the monthly payment won't crush you, not a perfect one. That $10k might only be 3% on a cheap place but that's enough to get you in the door. Keep it up, the feeling changes once you're actually shopping around.

Honestly, wait, hold up. You said 3 percent down payment? I thought that only worked for like, FHA loans or something special, and even then I figured you needed way more cash on hand. Ngl, I always hear people talking about 10 percent or 20 percent down, so the idea that you could actually snag a place with just three grand saved is wild to me. Tbh, that makes the whole $10k goal sound way more doable than I ever gave it credit for. I mean, I know you still gotta have money for closing costs and inspections and all that, but still.

Wow, that 3 percent thing is wild if true, did you actually find a lender that only needs 3k down or is that just wishful thinking?
