I compared a USDA loan with an FHA loan for my house in rural Georgia...
I was dead set on FHA because everyone talks about it. But when I ran the numbers for a $180,000 house in Macon, the USDA loan had way lower mortgage insurance. I ended up saving about $95 a month just by switching. Has anyone else had better luck with one type of loan over the other?

Oh yeah good question! Was the inspection process more strict with the USDA or did they let a lot of the same stuff slide like FHA does?

Did the USDA add any extra hoops to jump through for the inspection?

Yeah the extra hoops thing is real, it’s like how every time you have to renew your driver's license they add one more weird new rule nobody told you about. Did you have to chase down any crazy paperwork for yours?
