My realtor said to skip the sewer scope inspection to save $150, but the seller ended up paying $8,000 for a full line replacement after we found roots.

Has anyone else been told to skip a specific inspection, and how did you push back?

It's wild how often people in a rush tell you to skip the small checks. They act like saving a few bucks now is worth way more than avoiding a huge problem later. Always trust your gut over someone else's hurry.

Yeah that "saving a few bucks now" line is so true. I read this thing once about how skipping basic maintenance is the most common way small problems get way worse.

Exactly, that hurry-up pressure is how so many small things turn into big, expensive messes.
