Our inspector's note about the sewer line saved us $6,000
We had an offer accepted on a cute bungalow near Portland and our inspector added one random line about 'possible root intrusion' in the sewer scope. I almost ignored it because he said it so casually, but my realtor pushed me to call a plumber for a second camera run. Turns out there were massive roots and a partial collapse about 40 feet from the house. We got the seller to drop the price by $6,000 and used that money for the repair after closing. That tiny comment completely changed how I read inspection reports now. Has anyone else caught a huge issue from a small footnote or throwaway remark?
