Rant: my pre-approval letter expired 2 days before we made an offer in Cincinnati
We were sitting in my realtor's car outside the house on a Tuesday when she checked the letter and told us it had lapsed. I called my lender right there, and he redid it in about 20 minutes with a quick email back. Took 3 days to get the new one in hand, and the sellers almost walked. Did anyone else lock their rate and forget the letter has its own clock?

Did your lender warn you the pre approval letter had its own expiration separate from the rate lock? I read somewhere that letters usually die after 60 to 90 days, and a lot of folks mix that up with the rate lock clock.
