Spent $600 on a home inspection and the guy missed a leaky pipe that caused $3k in water damage

Three months after moving into my first place in Portland, I found mold behind a cabinet that the inspector walked right past, so has anyone else had a home inspector miss something major and did you get any money back from them?

Oh man, that "walked right past" part hit home. A friend of mine found out their inspector missed a huge sag in the roof that led to leaks everywhere, and after threatening to sue they got half the inspection fee back.

Yeah half back is still a scam, they should cover the damage too.

Yeah some inspectors just breeze through like they're checking boxes instead of actually looking. Your best bet is small claims court, even threatening it made my cousin get a full refund plus the cost of fixing the mold they missed.
