The $6,200 surprise hiding in my crawlspace 3 weeks after closing
My wife and I closed on a 1978 ranch in Greensboro 3 weeks back, and last Saturday I finally crawled under the house to run a network cable and found standing water and a rotted floor joist. A plumber quoted $6,200 to fix a slow leak the inspector completely missed, and now I am stuck deciding between paying up or fighting the seller. Did anyone else get hit with a hidden repair right after moving in, and how did you handle the money part?
