Update: my realtor kept showing me houses $40k over my max and I finally said something
I told her 3 times that my max was $260k and she still sent me listings in the $300k range almost every day for about 2 months. I finally asked her point blank if she was reading my emails and she said most buyers stretch their budget anyway. My pre-approval letter from Chase says $260k, that is not a suggestion, that is the number the bank will actually give me. Has anyone else had a realtor do this, and did you switch or just keep pushing back?

She said most buyers stretch their budget anyway? That's wild, like it's not her money on the line. Did you ask her straight up if she was gonna cover the gap when the bank says no? Curious if she backed off after you called her out or just kept sending the same stuff.
