A guy on Upwork told me my $75 logo quote was an insult, and honestly he was right
So about 5 months back I was scrolling Fiverr at like 11pm doing that thing where you convince yourself you are just browsing. I had a logo gig open at 75 bucks because that is what everyone else in my niche was charging and I figured hey, quick money. This guy messages me, a real client, and says my price was the reason he almost skipped my profile, because in his words cheap work attracts cheap problems. He ended up hiring someone else at $400 and I sat there kind of annoyed for a day or two. Then it hit me that I had been racing to the bottom on Fiverr for a year and a half and my earnings never grew past maybe $900 a month. Ever since I bumped my base to $250 the weird lowballers stopped messaging and the actual serious buyers started showing up. Funny thing is I get fewer orders now but I make more and deal with way less nonsense. Anyone else notice that raising your rate on these platforms filters out the people you did not want anyway?
