Finally tried portfolio reviews instead of lowering my rates, now I'm booking more jobs
After 18 months of cutting prices on Upwork to win gigs, I spent one Tuesday evening doing a free 10 minute video review of a buyer's draft logo before bidding, and three out of four of those people hired me at my full rate, so has anyone else seen better results from giving free advice upfront?

Did you see that marketing podcast where they said trust sells more than cheap?

Honestly, I used to be all about chasing the lowest price, thought that was the whole game. But hearing that podcast flipped a switch for me, especially the part about repeat customers. Yeah, someone might save a few bucks once, but if they don't trust you, they're gone the second a cheaper option pops up. Building that trust takes longer, but it feels way more solid in the end. Now I get why people stick with a brand that's proven itself, even if it costs a little more.
