I used to send 20 custom bids a day on Upwork, now I send 3 on Fiverr and make more
Two years ago I was grinding Upwork hard, sending about 20 custom proposals a day and paying $6 in connects just to get maybe one reply. My win rate was under 5% and I was pulling in around $800 a month after all the fees hit. Then a friend in Austin showed me his Fiverr setup in January 2024, where he just posted 4 gigs and let people come to him. I switched over that spring and now I do 3 gigs with clear pricing, no bidding wars, and I hit $2,100 last month. The 20% cut still stings on both sites, but at least on Fiverr I am not paying to apply for jobs I never hear back from. Has anyone else made this exact switch, and did your income go up or did the waiting drive you crazy?
