PSA: My barber in El Paso made me rethink how I price my gigs on both sites
He charges $45 a cut, never runs a discount code, and has a line out the door, while I was sitting there with 8 active $15 Fiverr orders wondering why I'm broke, so how do you all handle the race-to-the-bottom pricing when Upwork wants 10 percent on top of it?

There's a taco place near me that raised prices from $2.50 to $3.75 a taco last year and the line got longer. Same thing with my mechanic, he stopped doing cheap oil changes and now he's booked out two weeks. The cheap end of any market is crowded because everyone can compete there, but the top end stays open because most people are scared to charge what they're worth. Your barber figured out that a $45 cut customer is easier than three $15 ones, and he doesn't have to fight anyone for them. The 10 percent on Upwork stings less when the number in front of it is actually worth your time.
