Took me 3 weeks to figure out why my Upwork proposals kept getting ignored, and it was one dumb line
I kept leading with my rate and portfolio link, then a guy in a Dallas freelancer Slack said to open with the client's exact problem in the first sentence instead, and my reply rate jumped from 2 out of 20 to 6 out of 20, so now I'm wondering if Fiverr buyers even read past the first line or if I should just put the price up front.
Heard the same thing from a buddy who sells on Fiverr, and his buyers skim hard too. He moved his price into the first line so people saw it and left if it was too much, and his real inquiries actually went up. Sounds like a clean first line that names their problem and the price beats burying it halfway down.
