Vent: My $75 Fiverr gig for a logo gave me something that looked like clip art

I decided to test Fiverr for a small project last month, a simple logo for a side thing I'm doing. Paid $75 for a seller with decent reviews, thinking it would be safe. What I got back looked like something from a free clip art site from 2005, all jagged and generic. Had to go to Upwork and pay a proper $250 to get it fixed by someone who actually asked about my brand. Anyone else get burned on a cheap Fiverr gig that ended up costing more in the long run?

And that's the thing with Fiverr at that price point... you're basically gambling because even "good reviews" can be from people who just wanted something cheap and fast.

Yeah, feels like people get a little dramatic about Fiverr sometimes. It's five bucks, worst case you're out the cost of a sandwich and you move on with your life. I've gotten some decent work done there, just gotta keep your expectations in check and not act like you're hiring a top agency.

Wait, people actually pay five bucks on Fiverr and expect a full blown professional job @ward.diana? That's wild, I figured everyone knew you're basically just buying a lottery ticket at that price.
