Finished a big glue-down job in Phoenix. Subfloor was a mess. Had to level 200 square feet by hand.

Yeah, the heat movement is a real issue, but I'm more worried about the moisture down there. A messed up slab in Phoenix often means old moisture issues too. If you just glued over it without checking, you could be trapping vapor that'll wreck the bond from below. That adhesive failure max716 mentioned might come from the bottom up, not just the heat on top.

Leveling 200 square feet by hand... man, I feel that pain. But just a heads up, in Phoenix with that heat, a full glue-down over a subfloor that wasn't perfect can be risky. The slab needs to be super flat, like no more than 1/8 inch dip in ten feet flat. If it was really out of whack, you might see telegraphing or even adhesive failure down the road when the heat makes everything move. Next time, a self-leveler might save your back and give a better bond.

Honestly max716, a little floor movement from heat just shows it's alive and not some sterile slab.
