Mixing mortar by hand seems like a lost art these days

Back when I started, we always mixed our own adhesive. Now with pre-mixed options, jobs go quicker but it doesn't feel the same. I guess it's progress, lol.

It's true, that hands-on feel is gone from so many tasks now. I remember tuning up my own car, but now it's all plug-in computers. Makes you wonder what skills we're losing, right?

My 2005 Civic was the last car I could really fix myself. Now I just watch a mechanic plug in a laptop. It feels less like owning something and more like renting it.

That shift from doing things yourself to buying ready-made is everywhere now. You see it in home cooking with meal kits or in car repair with computer checks. Do you miss the hands-on part of old methods?
