My partner and I can't agree on the best way to handle a giant kitchen floor.

I think working alone keeps the method consistent, but he says a second person catches slips faster. How do you guys decide?

Have you heard what happened to my buddy's wife when she redid their huge floor alone? She insisted on doing the wax herself to keep it even, but she totally missed a big patch in the corner. Her husband came home and saw the dull spot right away before it set all the way. They had to redo that whole section, and now they never do floors without the other person there to spot check. Kinda proves that a second pair of eyes can save a lot of trouble.

Warehouse lighting is the real villain in stories like this. My uncle works in a big box store with those high ceilings, and he says the fluorescent panels create shadow pockets exactly where you'd miss a wax patch. They actually use portable work lights on rolling poles for floor inspections now. That dull corner spot wasn't just a missed glance, it was probably invisible in the room's normal light until someone walked in at a different angle.

That's a classic DIY pitfall. Did they use a single light source or just rely on room lights? Shadows can hide all sorts of misses. What type of wax was it, the kind that dries fast or slow? Makes me wonder if a different method would've caught the miss. Like, did they consider using a work light on a pole like in warehouses?
