The new library in Springfield has a floor pattern that just looks wrong to me

I was there last week and the main hall has this wide plank vinyl with a repeating grain that's way too obvious. It's a 7-inch plank, but the grain pattern repeats every 3 boards, so you get these clear stripes across the room. I know it's cheaper material, but for a public building, they should have sprung for a better visual. Has anyone else seen a public job where the pattern repeat was this bad?

I kinda like the pattern, makes it feel modern.

Reminds me of the laminate at my old high school, SarahScott.

Ever notice how hospitals do that too?

Yeah, I feel you on that. I walked into the new courthouse in my town last month and the floor was some sort of faux wood plank with a pattern that repeated every two boards. It was so bad it made me dizzy walking down the hallway, like one of those optical illusion pictures from the 90s. You figure with all the money they spend on public projects they could at least get flooring that doesn't look like it was picked from the bargain bin at a hardware store. It's a shame because the rest of the building is pretty nice, but every time I look down it just bugs me.
