Tried no-cure urethane on a kitchen floor and it peeled up in 3 days

I used Bona Traffic HD on a job in Austin last week and skipped the full cure time because the homeowner needed the fridge back in place. The finish lifted right off where the rubber feet sat. Has anyone else had a request like this mess up a job?

Are you sure the fridge was the real problem here? I gotta say, I've put fridges back on plenty of floors right after the last coat and never had this kind of peel. More likely you didn't prep the subfloor right or your mix was off. Traffic HD is pretty bulletproof if you follow the instructions to the letter. I always tell homeowners the fridge can go back same day if the temp and humidity are right and the finish is tack-free. Maybe your Austin humidity was too high or the floor had dust or oil from the kitchen. Honestly sounds like a you problem not a cure time problem.

Honestly sounds like a you problem" is pretty harsh, I think the manufacturer's cure time exists for a reason.

Agree with you on that one. The cure time is there for a reason, and it's not just some random number they pulled out of thin air. Humidity and temp play a big role but even in perfect conditions the finish needs time to fully harden before you put a heavy fridge on it. Rushing it just to save a few hours is asking for trouble later. I've seen too many jobs where someone tried to cut corners on drying time and ended up with peeling a month down the road.
