Ceramic blanket vs the old asbestos board, I was a doubter for years

Been running a small iron shop outside Youngstown for about 12 years now, always swore by the rigid board for furnace lining. My buddy kept pushing ceramic blanket at the Pittsburgh trade show, said it was the next thing. Finally swapped out a section last month on a 2-ton unit, and the heat retention difference is noticeable, fuel usage dropped maybe 8% already. Anyone else make the switch or stick with the traditional board for a reason?
