The day my safety glasses saved me from a face full of molten brass

Last Thursday I was pouring a small batch of brass for some custom bushings, about 30 pounds worth. Everything going smooth until the crucible tipped a little on the transfer. A chunk of hot metal splashed right up and hit my glasses dead center. Not a scratch on me but the lens looked like someone took a baseball bat to it. I just stood there for a second staring at the crack thinking about how close that was to my eyeball. The shop foreman walked by and said "that's why we buy the good stuff" and handed me a fresh pair from the locker. Anyone else had a close call like that where the gear paid for itself in one second? I'm curious if you guys keep spare lenses on hand or just replace the whole frame.
