The safety glasses I fought for 5 years finally saved my eye last Tuesday

Been pouring at the same shop outside Detroit since 2019. Always bitched about the fogging, took them off every chance I got. Last week a chunk of scale bounced off the ladle lip and hit my lens dead center. Got a nice scuff on the glass instead of a cornea. Anyone else have a near miss that made them stop skipping the PPE?
