The supervisor who ignored the heat alarm for 15 minutes
Last August in the Milwaukee plant, our new supervisor waved off the mold line heat alarm three times because the shift was running behind. He told me, 'we'll check it after this pour,' and that delay cracked two mold jackets beyond repair. Has anyone else had a boss override safety alarms during a rush, and how did you handle it without losing your job?

Man, that's rough. A buddy of mine had a similar thing happen at a foundry up in Green Bay, where the foreman kept ignoring the belt sensor alarm because they were trying to hit a shipping deadline. By the time they finally stopped the line, a whole batch of castings was misaligned and had to be scrapped, and my buddy just documented every time he flagged it and the supervisor's exact words in a notebook. He didn't lose his job, but he did start looking for another shift the next week because that trust was gone.
