Why does nobody talk about rushed cooling ruining castings?
I swear most flaws come from not letting things cool right. We need to stop rushing jobs for speed.

Actually a lot of casting flaws start in the mold design or the pour itself. Rushed cooling is a problem but it's often the last step in a chain of issues. Focusing just on cooling misses the bigger picture.

Ford's Windsor plant cut scrap rates by 40% just by fixing their cooling tunnels. Sometimes the last step is the one that breaks everything, right?

Is it really the main cause though? Craig.parker's example is one plant, but that's a fix for their specific setup. Most shops have way bigger problems earlier in the process.
