A client's 'handshake deal' fell apart on me last month over a logo design
We agreed on a price, but when I delivered the final files, they claimed we never settled on the payment terms. I had to walk away from the $800 because I had nothing in writing. How do you all handle clients who resist signing anything at the start?

Totally. I learned that the hard way last year with a "quick" website job. The guy kept adding tiny changes, calling them nothing, and then acted shocked at the final number. Now my first email after saying yes has a link to the contract. If they don't sign it, the project just doesn't exist. It saves so much weird energy later.

Been there, it's the worst. My rule now is no work starts without a signed agreement. I send a simple contract through a free e-sign service and tell them it protects us both. If they push back, that's a red flag and I pass on the project. What's your go-to method for getting things signed?
