Question about how long people wait before sending a revision request

I used to send revision requests the same day I got feedback, but after losing a $600 project because the client said I was rushing them, I started waiting 48 hours. Has anyone else run into timing issues with contract terms around revision windows?

Totally sympathize with that, it's such a tricky balance between being proactive and not coming off as pushy. Waiting 48 hours sounds like a solid buffer though, especially with the money on the line.

Oh man, right? It's like you're walking this tightrope where one wrong step and you're either the annoying person or the one who lost the gig. I had this thing happen last month where I followed up after two days and the client was actually relieved because she'd been meaning to reply but got swamped with work stuff. Then another time I waited the same amount of time and the guy was like "I already went with someone else, sorry" and I was kicking myself for not reaching out sooner. So I feel you on that 48 hour rule, it's like this sweet spot where you're showing you're on top of things without being that person who texts every five minutes. It's just nerve wracking because sometimes you can tell they're interested but you're scared to mess it up by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.

@fisher.jessica exactly, that waiting game is brutal but 48 hours is the move.
