Signed a fixed price contract for a logo and ended up doing 9 revisions for free
I was sitting in my living room back in March when a new client came through with a logo project. They agreed to $800 flat rate, but I didn't put a limit on revisions in the contract. After the 4th round of changes they wanted a whole new color scheme, and by revision 9 I was redoing the same stuff over and over. Now I add a clause that says 3 revisions max, anything beyond that is $100 per round. Has anyone else got burned by not capping changes in their agreements?

...the 3 revision limit saved my bacon too, I started doing that after a client had me change the same font 6 times. I also add a line that says any new direction after the second revision counts as a fresh round of changes.

@charlieh74 YES that fresh round of changes line is genius. I actually started using something similar after a client had me redesign the homepage 4 times because their wife kept changing her mind. Now I put a hard stop at 2 revisions and anything beyond that means a new fee. Saves me from those infinite loop situations where nothing ever gets finalized. You gotta protect your time or clients will eat it all up.

The 3 revision limit is a GAME CHANGER for sure. I started capping revisions at 2 after a client made me flip between serif and sans-serif fonts for a week straight. Now i put that fresh round of changes line in every single contract and it saved me from going crazy.
