Had to choose between a $35 logo or a $500 one for my shop...
I was setting up my Etsy store for handmade leather goods about 2 months ago and needed a logo fast. The $35 option was some template from Fiverr where the guy just swapped out text. The $500 option was a real designer in Portland who wanted 3 rounds of revisions. I went cheap obviously and the logo looked like clip art from 2008... then I had a customer ask if I was just reselling stuff from AliExpress. That stung. Spent the $500 after that and the designer actually asked me about my grandpa's old workshop for inspiration. Has anyone else tried to cut corners on branding and regretted it later?

A logo is just a logo though, right?

I actually read this article in Inc. Magazine a few months back that said 60% of customers won't buy from a brand that looks unprofessional, even if the product is good. That stat stuck with me because your AliExpress comment hits way too close to home. Ngl, people really do judge a book by its cover when it comes to logos, especially on a platform like Etsy where trust is already shaky. You dodged a bullet by upgrading, honestly. A $35 template screams "I don't care" and that's not the vibe you want for handmade goods.
