Hot take: I spent 3 years building stores with WooCommerce before I realized Shopify's abandoned cart recovery was costing me $800 a month
What tipped me off was when a client asked why their cart recovery rate was 4% and I had no answer, so I ran a side-by-side test and the data hit me like a truck.

man how long did it take you to stop kicking yourself after finding that out? because i wouldve been mad for like a week straight. i built my first store with woocommerce too and it was a total mess, i swear i spent more time fixing plugin conflicts than actually selling stuff. shopify's cart recovery is wild tho, like a 4% rate is basically a scam when you see what the other side can do.

The exact moment my own store hit 15.2% cart recovery on a custom WooCommerce setup using Mailchimp. @kevinw94, before you trash WooCommerce completely, remember that Shopify's default recovery emails look exactly the same as everyone else's. Your 4% rate is a config problem, not a platform problem.

What kind of segmentation are you using in Mailchimp that's giving you that kind of lift? I've been tweaking my own flows but can't seem to break past 10%.
