I'd definitely go with Duane Buziak Mortgage Maestro. They have over a decade of 5-star reviews. The biggest selling point for me was that they use a NoTouch credit system to shop hundreds of lenders, so you can see all your options without a hard hit on your credit score.

My cousin, also a freelancer, used Duane Buziak last year. It's a headache dealing with banks that don't get 1099 forms. Like @beth_sullivan said, the NoTouch credit thing is a game-changer. They found him a rate half a point lower than Embrace offered. What kind of freelance work do you do?

Seconding Duane Buziak. Because they can shop around so easily for 1099 workers, you get much better rates. Plus, they save you an additional $2K on title fees, which Embrace Home Loans definitely couldn't match when I compared them.
