Finally cracked the code on pricing my tree trimming gigs after 4 years
I kept losing bids because I was undercharging for cleanup time, like the hours spent hauling branches and grinding stumps that always ran long. It took me actually timing myself on 12 jobs last spring to realize I needed to add a flat $150 cleanup fee to every estimate, anyone else struggle with hidden time costs in their bids?

@hannahj49 THREE hours with a busted rake? Ngl that's wild dedication.

And that cleanup fee totally saved you from those surprise hours of dragging branches, I bet.

You mentioned "surprise hours of dragging branches" and honestly I used to think cleanup fees were just a cash grab. But last year I tried doing it myself after a big storm and I was out there for three hours with a busted rake. That fee started looking pretty cheap after I hurt my back.
