Hit my first $5k month after 18 months of hustling
I started freelancing in early 2022 and most months I was scraping by on $1500 or so. Last month I finally crossed $5k in revenue and it feels like a real turning point. The biggest change was switching from hourly billing to flat project fees for my main service. Once I started quoting based on value instead of time, my income jumped way faster than I expected. I also stopped taking random small gigs from Upwork and focused on repeat clients who pay on time. That shift probably took about 6 months to really pay off, but now I can see a clear before-and-after in my bank account. Has anyone else noticed a similar jump after changing how they price things?

Read somewhere that value pricing usually triples income in the first year. Seems about right.

Six bucks for a coffee feels steep until you realize the cafe down the street charges nine.
