I went with a cheap tax person over a pro and it was a mess
I mean, everyone says to hire a real CPA for freelance taxes, but I thought I could save money. Last tax season, I picked a local guy charging $150 over a firm that wanted $500. He missed a $2,000 deduction for my home office and I got a scary letter from the IRS about it. It took me three months and a lot of stress to fix everything. Maybe it's just me, but I think the 'cheap' option can cost you more in the end. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a budget tax preparer?
