My accountant asked if I'd ever considered a 'cat deduction' last tax season

I was going over my books with him last April and my cat, Mochi, knocked a whole stack of receipts off the desk. He just looked at the mess and deadpanned, 'Is this a business expense? I hear feline admin support is a growing field.' I had to explain that no, the $47 in shredded paper was not a write-off. Has anyone else's pets 'helped' in ways that definitely hurt the bottom line?

Mochi's a pro compared to my dog. He ate a bluetooth keyboard last quarter. Not chewed, fully consumed. Had to buy a new one and the vet bill was insane. Did your accountant have a straight face the whole time or did he crack up?

Read somewhere that dogs eating electronics is more common than you'd think (something about the plastic smell maybe). Hope your pup learned his lesson after that vet trip.

My old cat once knocked a full mug of coffee into an open laptop. The repair guy asked if it was a new water-cooling system.

At least your cat upgraded your tech.
