Overheard a client on the phone say 'I just pay whatever the invoice says'

I was cleaning an office yesterday and heard a business owner on a call telling someone they never question their freelancer's rates or hours. It made me realize I might be leaving money on the table by not being more confident in my pricing. How do you decide when it's time to raise your rates for a long-term client?

How often do you review your own costs and expenses? I raised my rates last year after my own business insurance and software subscriptions went up, and my best client didn't even blink. It's a good way to frame it that feels fair.

My spreadsheet gets a price check every six months.

Best client didn't even blink" is the sign you're undercharging.
