Spent $200 on a 'must-have' freelance finance planner that was just a fancy notebook

Saw an ad for this planner that promised to revolutionize my quarterly tax estimates and expense tracking. The sales page made it sound like it would do all the math for me. It arrived last week, and it's literally just a notebook with some pre-printed columns. No formulas, no guidance, just blank lines in a leather binder. My basic spreadsheet does a better job. What's the silliest thing you've bought for your business that turned out to be useless?

Oh man, I gave that a shot once and it was a total disaster. My left hand just refused to cooperate and I nearly threw the mouse across the room. Why are we so bad at simple stuff with the wrong hand?
