That $200 scanner that gave up after 60 invoices
My cheap receipt scanner died on me right after I finished my Q3 taxes. Had to manually enter 60 scanned documents by hand because the software locked up. Anyone else have a backup plan for when your gear craps out mid-project?

Honestly that's the worst timing. Heard from a bookkeeping group that some folks keep a second old phone with a scanner app just for backup. Maybe test a free scanning app on your phone next time so you're not stuck if the hardware gives out.

Nah, the old phone backup plan is overkill for most people. If your scanner dies once in a blue moon, just snap a photo with your regular phone and email it - it's not that deep.

Yeah phone cameras work okay til you gotta email 60 receipts one at a time. That's when you miss the scanner.
