The fancy invoicing app I swore was a waste turned out to save me $400
I was super skeptical when my friend in Austin pushed this app called FreshBooks on me last year. I thought my spreadsheet system was fine and didn't need to pay $15 a month for something so simple. Then I missed a $400 payment from a web design gig because I forgot to follow up on a 60 day overdue invoice. The app auto-sent reminders and found the payment within a week. Has anyone else found a tool they hated at first that actually worked?

My buddy Mike from college kept bugging me about using a password manager for years and I just ignored him. I was rocking the same three passwords for everything like a fool. Then my email got hacked last summer and someone tried to buy $200 worth of amazon gift cards with my saved payment info. Took me three days to untangle everything and change all my accounts. Now I use Bitwarden and it's actually kind of nice not having to remember which variation of "password123" I used for what site.

Bitwarden's great and all but you probably should have listened to Mike years ago, lesson learned the hard way.
