Three years of using FreshBooks and I still think QuickBooks is a scam for freelancers
After a $150 accountant fee to fix what FreshBooks did automatically, what finally convinced me was comparing my 2023 tax prep time - 2 hours with FreshBooks versus 6 hours with QuickBooks the year before - has anyone else switched and noticed a real difference in their actual billable hours?

Man I spent that accountant fee on beer to cope with QuickBooks rage.

Did you at least buy good beer or was it cheap stuff?

Kinda have to push back on the QuickBooks being a scam thing. I used it for two years with my freelance gig and it worked fine for what I needed, but I also wasn't tracking time or invoices the way FreshBooks does. The real difference I saw was that QuickBooks is way more geared toward bigger businesses with employees and inventory, not solo freelancers like us. So if you're just doing simple invoicing and expenses, QuickBooks can feel like overkill for sure. But calling it a scam feels a bit strong - it's more like the wrong tool for the job if you're a one person show.
