Vent: That "Net 60" client ghosted me after 5 months of work
I landed a big client back in March who promised payment within 60 days. I did $4,200 worth of editing work for them over 5 months. Now they won't answer emails or calls, and I'm stuck chasing a dead end. Anyone else had to go legal over a client who just disappeared?

Man, that's brutal. Have you considered sending a formal demand letter? It's a small step that sometimes gets their attention without a full court case.

Got to agree with Ben here. Even a simple letter from a lawyer sometimes makes them blink. I've seen it work for people in similar situations where they were just getting ignored. It's like a wake up call that says hey we're actually serious about this. Definitely worth a shot before you go spending on a full lawsuit.

YES exactly! That letter is like flipping a switch sometimes. I had a landlord who just straight up ignored me for three months about a broken water heater. Soon as my lawyer sent a one page letter saying we'd take them to small claims court, they had a guy out there the NEXT DAY. It's wild how fast they change their tune when they see you're not just bluffing with threats.
