Appreciation post: that $30 Trello template I ignored for months

Honestly, I spent like 6 months just winging it with sticky notes and a clunky spreadsheet for tracking my freelance projects. My buddy kept pushing this Trello board he made, but I thought it was overkill. Finally gave it a shot last Tuesday and it actually organized everything from client intake to delivery in one place. The problem was I’d lose track of deadlines and tasks, and this simple board fixed it without any fancy setup. Anyone else find a cheap tool that just clicked after putting it off?

Hold on, you said you ignored it for months but then you said you tried it last Tuesday... that's like a week, not months.

Doesn't ignoring something for months and then trying it once still count as ignoring it for months though?

Noahwood makes a fair point about the timeline, but I think Drew is getting at something deeper here. It's like how people say they're terrible at keeping in touch with old friends, then they send one text and think they've fixed everything. You can't really claim you gave something a fair shot when you spent most of the time avoiding it entirely. That one attempt feels more like checking a box than actually engaging with it.
