Just had the worst day ever with a contract client in Denver

I took on a rush job last Tuesday for a small business owner in Denver who needed a lease review done by Friday. Dude sent me 47 pages of fine print with notes scribbled in the margins like 'lol this is dumb.' Spent 4 hours untangling his mess only to find out he already signed the lease before he even called me. Then he argued my invoice for $350 was too high because 'you just read some papers.' I pointed out that reading is literally the job and he said I was being difficult. To top it off, PayPal hit me with a hold on the payment for 21 days because he filed a dispute saying I didn't deliver. Has anyone else dealt with clients who ignore your work then try to stiff you on the bill?

Wait, he wrote "lol this is dumb" in the margins of a legal document? That is wild. I honestly can't believe people like that exist in the real world. You did a whole rush job for him and he signed it before you even started, that's just disrespectful of your time. And then to say reading papers is too easy? Like, what does he think a lease review is, magic? I hope PayPal sides with you because that dispute is just plain dishonest.

Oh man, this guy sounds like a total piece of work! I can't get over the "lol this is dumb" in the margins, that's just next level disrespect. Like, you paid for a service, at least pretend to take it seriously. And then calling reading papers too easy is such a slap in the face, especially since you rushed for him. I really hope PayPal sees through his nonsense and sides with you, that dispute is just straight up dishonest.

Flip it around on him for a second. He wrote 'lol this is dumb' in the margins of a lease he already signed. That means he knowingly signed something he thought was dumb. So either he's an idiot or he was trying to get you to find something wrong so he could blame you for his own bad decision. Either way, $350 is cheap for that kind of free therapy.
