Tried charging per task instead of hourly for contract work

Switched to flat fees for legal document review on a 2 week project. Doubled my take home pay without working extra hours. Anyone else find a pricing tweak that actually worked out better?

Wait, you mean I can charge more and work less? Why didn't anyone tell me this sooner? I switched to flat fees for editing gigs and suddenly stopped hating every email asking for "just one more pass." Hourly rates made me feel like I was clocking in at a factory, but now I just quote a number and if they haggle, I pretend I'm offended. It's not like they know how fast I actually type.

Wait, does that mean I should stop pretending I type with my elbows when quoting flat fees?
