Ditched my fancy invoicing software for a plain text file trick

Spent 6 months using FreshBooks at $15 a month. Constant popups, slow loading. Switched to a simple text file template I made in 10 minutes. Send invoices as PDFs from my email. Saved $90 and zero headaches so far. Anyone else using barebones tools over bloated apps?

Bought a cheap version first and it broke in two months. Spent more on the quality one and it's still going strong three years later. Sometimes paying once is cheaper than paying twice.
