I finally stopped looking down on those all-in-one invoicing platforms

For like 2 years I kept doing everything in separate apps and spreadsheets because I thought the all-in-ones were too basic for my stuff lol. Then I switched to one after a client in Portland asked for their invoice in a specific format and the platform handled it automatically. Has anyone else found a tool they ignored at first that actually saved them time?

Ugh the "too basic for my stuff" thing is such a trap, I fell for it too lol. I spent a year keeping client notes in three different places and manually re-entering data because I thought real freelancers used separate tools. Then I finally caved and tried one after I double billed a client in December and wanted to die. The automation alone was worth it, like I actually trust it not to mess up my math now. It's embarrassing how long it took me to realize simple doesn't mean bad.

Brooke you're making me feel so called out right now lol. I was 100% that person who swore by their color coded sticky notes and thought any kind of CRM was overkill. Then I missed a payment from a regular client because I lost the invoice in a pile of papers and honestly that was the wake up call I needed. Now I just use one simple tool and it handles everything without me having to think about it. Simple really is better, who would have guessed.

Ngl I felt superior running a spreadsheet empire until it collapsed on me.
