Showerthought: I billed for a full day's work on a Tuesday and didn't leave my apartment.

Last week, a project I'd been waiting on for months finally got the green light, so I just sat at my kitchen table in Seattle and worked straight through from 7 AM to 6 PM. I realized I hadn't spoken to another person all day until I called for a pizza at the end. Is it weird that this felt like a bigger win than landing the job in the first place?

Getting into that deep work zone is the best. I keep a water bottle and some snacks right at my desk so I don't have to break focus.

My desk setup has a big insulated bottle that holds a full day's water, plus a little container of almonds. It's crazy how much longer I can stay locked in when I don't have to get up for anything.

Totally agree about the snacks and water bottle. That's the real key. I tried just powering through before and it always backfires. You get thirsty or your brain just stops working without fuel. Having it all right there means you can ride that focus wave way longer. It feels like a superpower when you don't have to break the flow.
