Spent 6 hours trying to fix a single Excel formula for my invoicing system
Honestly, I thought it'd be a 20 minute tweak to automate my monthly totals. Turned out I had to learn nested IF statements from scratch at 11pm on a Thursday. Has anyone else wasted a whole evening on something stupid like this?

Yeah, that sinking feeling when you realize what you thought was a quick fix is actually a full blown rabbit hole is the worst. Those nested IF statements can be a real pain, especially when you're bleary eyed late at night. It's always the little things like locking a cell reference that trip you up for way too long. Glad to hear you powered through it, hope your invoicing is all set now and running smooth.

Bro 6 hours? I feel your pain so hard. Last month I spent 5 hours trying to get a VLOOKUP to work across 3 sheets because I forgot to lock the cell references. Turned out I needed a $ sign in front of the column letter and it took me forever to figure that out. My eyes were crossing by midnight. It's always the "simple" little things that eat up your whole night, right? At least you probably learned nested IFs better than you ever wanted to. Hope your invoicing system is working now because that sounds like a nightmare.

5 hours on a VLOOKUP across 3 sheets? I'd argue that's a rite of passage at this point, but maybe that's just me being dramatic. Locking cells with $ signs is one of those things that seems obvious once you know it, but nobody tells you upfront. Your invoicing system probably works fine now, though, and that's what matters in the long run.
